Forerunner InForm Voice Premise Phone System

Overview

Forerunner Technologies, Inc. has acquired NEC’s Unified Communications business in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. As part of this transition, Forerunner, Inc.—NEC’s largest and most experienced distribution partner—has been named the exclusive distributor for NEC products in the United States.

Forerunner will manage all of NEC's premise systems until NEC EOL support ends 3/31/2025. However, Forerunner did outright buyout the NEC 3C phone system product line from NEC entirely. It has been renamed InForm Voice. This will be the only NEC beyond 2030 supported phone system platform and continually developed originally NEC systems.

InForm Voice (formerly NEC 3C product line) is a long time favorite for large customers (cities/defense/large companies, etc.) companies allowing 60,000 connections (lines/users) and up to 1,000,000 Busy hour call attemps (industry metric). It will allow other NEC phone systems platorms (9100, 9300, 9500, etc.) to be a component within the InForm Voice system. Trivia: It was actually the heart of NEC's CLOUD system from the milenium to 2017. In 2017 NEC used Intermedia's Unite and Call Center as their Univerge.Blue flagship CLOUD offering.

The large systems were historically based on Windows Servers, Secure and Reliable (DOD - JITC certified LSC) and still is still the top tier. A lower cost Linux version targeted initially targeted for SMB under 300 phones is also available. Usage, Device freedom, mobile apps, MS Teams integration, and softphones with a secure and reliable enough for DOD and the largest of customers.
